hungry mother state park

every year, lauren has a birthday. and to celebrate we take a family trip to hungry mother state park in marion, virginia. i haven't been to many state parks in virginia but this one is definitely the best. i like to say it's our annual camping trip, but we're divas so we stay in a fully furnished cabin with heat and a kitchen. it's always nice to get away from the city. the six hour drive is the most fun part. we made chili and played scattergories, pictionary, and dance charades. we finally made it to molly's knob summit, something we had yet to accomplish. it was beautiful and our hike was even more special when a mystery dog appeared at the beginning of the trail and stayed with us the entire six hour hike. on the way back to the campgrounds, our group got separated and noel and i followed the dog's path instead of the one we had originally taken up. he took us on a shortcut and disappeared once we got back to the car. maybe he was a ghost? his collar didn't have a name, just a number. our hungry mother trip is always one of the best weekends of my year and i would highly recommend that everyone check out hungry mother state park!

757 state of mind

at 18, i was dying to get out of hampton roads. at 23, i'm dying to go home. i really do want to move back. but enough about me, yesterday we ventured 64E to visit billy and check out the biggest purchase of his life, his very first home! it's tucked away in a cute little neighborhood in norfolk. his house is so cute and so billy and i'm way proud of him. we hung around his house, played with the animals, and checked out a hobby shop that was right around the corner. james got some really cool prints. we ventured into vb, went to another hobby shop, visited my parents, met princess for sushi, then had to come home. i wish i could've stayed longer, but at least we got to see billy's new house and more importantly, billy and princess! i love 757.

last night, i had a dream that i had four children and i was taking them on a roadtrip. except in my dream, they existed but i never held them or acknowledged them as a my children. then i went to a halloween party where an acquaintance sang a song about every person that was there.

Children

To see children in your dream, signify an aspect of yourself and your childlike qualities. You may be retreating back to a childlike state where you are longing for the past and the chance to satisfy repressed desires and unfulfilled hopes. Perhaps there is something that you need to see grow and nurtured. Take some time off and cater to the inner child within. Alternatively, the dream may be highlighting you innocence, purity, simplicity, and carefree attitude.

Taurus Full Moon

The Taurus Full Moon occurs when the Moon in Taurus opposes the Sun in Scorpio, creating a 180 degree angle and a tension between the conscious mind (Sun) and the emotional instinctive reactions (Moon), and the challenging square of both luminaries to Mars will definitely spice up the Full Moon!

Mars is in Leo now, where the role of personal development is emphasized, and the Full Moon occurs in the sign of Taurus. Taurus is focused on stability and physical security, as well as the peace and serenity that comes from a life that is full of contentment and material gifts. This Full Moon could highlight any areas of our life where our personal ego gets in the way of our ability to achieve comfort in our lives, but will also help to energize us to fulfill the dreams of the Full Moon.

Any lunation, or lunar event, encompasses all of the planetary combinations that occur at the time of the event. Taurus's ruler Venus, the planet of love and beauty as well as harmony and peace forms a harmonious trine to Neptune on the day of the Full Moon. This harmonious dance between the planet of spirituality (Neptune) and the goddess of love helps to wrap our experience in a veil of magic and conscious awareness which helps us to utilize the energy of Mars in a more productive way.

Of course the approaching square from Saturn to Pluto is also a part of the lunation, adding a touch of darkness to the event and a requirement that we not forget that death is at our door while we celebrate at the party of pleasure. Humans are the only species with an awareness of death, and this more than anything is what inspires us to greater spiritual wisdom.
